The Inverell Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a local body of volunteers who support local business and industry through promotion and advertising. The Chamber and various member committees meet regularly to discuss local issues and to address business concerns of members. Among others, issues discussed and workshopped include; tourism and town promotion - developing Inverell as a tourist destination, economic development, penalty rates and compliance burden, workers compensation issues, payroll tax issues, public transport, telecommunications and health & education The Chamber is often approached by Government departments, community groups, and private enterprise to host briefing events for the purpose of keeping members up to date on legislation, development projects, and various activities in and around Inverell Shire.
